Binance Futures through a proxy, what changes and what doesn’t

The short answer

This guide shows how to put a Binance Futures bot on a proxy. If a piece of an order is lost, our server sends it again on its connection to Binance. Binance names no server city, so pick one and time it yourself.

Your bot can use Traders Proxy only if it has a proxy setting

Your program must have a proxy setting that takes a login and a password. Many bots and scripts do. Only the program you set up uses Traders Proxy, and everything else on your computer stays on your normal internet.

Why it matters. Your plan’s data goes on your bot, not on browsing or downloads.

If your program has no proxy setting, it can’t use Traders Proxy. We have no mode that sends your whole computer through us. So look for a proxy option in your program’s settings before you pay.

Binance names no city, so you test one instead of guessing

Binance publishes the web addresses that programs connect to. Its developer documents don’t say which city its servers are in (Binance developer documents).

So we can’t tell you which of our cities is nearest to Binance, and we won’t guess. You pick a city to test, and your own timing shows whether it helps. The cities page lists every city we have.

What it means for you. You decide on your own numbers, not on our word. You can switch city in your dashboard, so testing two costs you little.

Lost data is sent again from our server, not from your computer

This is the one connection step that we change, so it is what your test can show.

A backtest runs on your own machine, so no internet link can lose a piece of data during a news release. In live trading, one lost piece holds up every price update and order behind it. Everything waits while your computer sends it again across the world.

Your program connects to our server. Our server makes its own, separate connection to Binance and passes your data between the two.

Your bot sends orders as small pieces of data. If one is lost between our server and Binance, our server sends it again. Your computer doesn’t have to send it again from far away.

Why it matters. While a lost piece is sent again, everything after it waits. That wait then depends on the distance from our server to Binance, not from you.

That helps only on the connection between our server and Binance. Data lost between you and our server is sent again between you and our server.

Our server also sends an order out as soon as it arrives. It never holds data back to bundle, so a small order goes straight out.

You cannot paste four values into your platform while your chart is already frozen in a live trade. Set it up today while the market is calm. Then time it on your own screen during the next release.

The table sorts what we can change from what we can’t, so you know what your test can show.

What Traders Proxy can and cannot change for a Binance program
WhatCan we change it?Why
The distance to Binance’s serversNoPing is the time data takes there and back. We don’t promise lower ping. Distance sets the minimum.
Where lost data is sent again fromYes, on the connection between our server and BinanceOur server has its own connection to Binance, so it sends the data again from there.
Binance’s request limitsNoBinance counts request limits for each address, and order limits for each account.
Binance’s prices and your fillsNoBinance and the market set them.

A shared address means a shared request limit

Read this before you put a busy bot on our server. It tells you whether Traders Proxy suits your bot at all.

Binance says its request limits are based on the address, not on the API key. Binance sees one steady address, our server’s, shared with other Traders Proxy customers.

What it means for you. Other customers’ requests count towards the same limit. Binance bans an address that keeps sending after a limit warning, for anything from 2 minutes to 3 days. A ban on our address locks your bot out too.

So if your bot sends many requests a minute, watch Binance’s replies for limit warnings while you test.

The address changes if you switch city or we replace a server. If your API key lists allowed addresses, add the new one after any change. Otherwise your bot is locked out.

Because the address is shared, listing it on your key protects you less than an address only you use. Keep your API key secret either way.

Traders Proxy is no way round where Binance lets you trade from. Check Binance’s terms for your account before you start.

If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. An exchange counts as your broker here.

Four steps, and the last one tells you if it helps

How to set up your bot in four steps

  1. 01

    Pick the city to test

In your dashboard, choose Change your broker’s city, pick the city you want to test and choose Use this city. Our server in that city is the one that connects to Binance. You can switch it there later.

  2. 02

    Copy the four values

Under Your values, copy the Server, Port, Login and Password. There is nothing to install. These four tell your program where our server is and let it in.

  3. 03

Enter them in your program’s proxy setting

Choose SOCKS5 or HTTP, whichever your program offers, and enter the four values. Restart the program if it asks, so it starts using the new setting.

Each program’s maker decides which of its connections use its proxy setting.

  4. 04

Time it with the proxy off, then on

Time one request both ways in a busy session and compare them. If your platform can’t connect through us and support can’t fix it, we refund your first payment within 7 days on a monthly plan, or 14 days on a yearly plan or Founder 50. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If they match, stop renewal in your dashboard before your renewal date. You keep access to the end of the period you paid for.

Common questions about Binance and Traders Proxy

Frequently asked questions

Will Traders Proxy lower my delay to Binance?

We don’t promise lower ping. Distance sets the minimum. What can change is where lost data is sent again from. Time your own program to see.

Does a proxy change Binance’s request limits?

No. Binance counts its request limits for each address, and our address is shared with other customers. So the limit is shared too.

Does the same setup work for Binance spot trading?

Yes, if your spot program has a proxy setting. The setup is the same, and so are the limits above.

Do you know where Binance’s servers are?

No. Binance’s documents give web addresses, not cities. We won’t name a city we can’t source.

cTraderNot a proxy problem

High server delay, slow price feed or slow fills in cTrader

“We do not control the entire order routing, therefore we cannot provide a comprehensive explanation for the execution time.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy doesn't change your broker's prices, fills or spreads, and it doesn't promise lower ping.

Where it stops. We do not change cTrader server delay, tick frequency or fills. In cTrader, our server connects onward to Spotware’s cloud node.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Not a proxy problem

MT5's own Proxy box overwrites, empties or refuses to save what you type

“I click on Enable proxy server -> Proxy ... -> Give my server , login . password , sock5 Then when i press test or ok , it doesnt go anywhere at all. The cursor goes back to the server field. I tried the same setting on my local computer , it is working fine.”

Why a proxy does not change this. We change nothing on your computer. The server, login and password go into your platform's own Proxy setting.

  • Only the app you set up is routedBoundary

Where it stops. We change nothing on your computer. If a MetaTrader 5 build fails to save its proxy dialog, we cannot repair the terminal window itself.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Not a proxy problem

Order timeouts, 3-minute hangs, 'Off quotes' and 'No connection' when closing

“Sometimes an order get executed on the server-side while my EA is on the way of processing a modify on that order. Everytime that happens it needs to wait full 3 minutes until a 'timeout' error returns”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy doesn't change spreads, fills or requotes.

Where it stops. Off quotes, Requote and order timeouts are decided by your broker’s server, not by the proxy route.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

Campus or institution blocks every VPN and proxy as well as trading

“This is what we do at my work, but that is because we do sensitive financial records management. Only traffic to approved sites is permitted on known service ports.”

Why a proxy does not change this. No claim. We don't promise to work on networks that block proxies and VPNs.

Where it stops. Some networks block all proxies. If yours does, we won't get through.
