How to set up your trading platform
The short answer
Pick the guide for your trading platform. Traders Proxy works with any platform that has a proxy setting. MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), cTrader, TradingView Desktop and Optuma each have a guide that shows where the values go.
Which guide is yours?
- MT5 proxy setupRead this if you use MetaTrader 5 on a computer. It shows where the four values go and how to test them. MetaQuotes documents the setting for Windows, Mac and Linux.
- MT4 proxy setupRead this if you use MetaTrader 4 on a computer. It shows where the four values go and how to test them. MetaQuotes documents the setting for Windows, Mac and Linux.
- MT5 on AndroidRead this if you trade MT5 on an Android phone. It shows how to send only MT5 through a proxy app, as we tested it. iPhone is untested.
- MT4 on AndroidRead this if you trade MT4 on an Android phone. It shows how to send only MT4 through a proxy app, as we tested it. iPhone is untested.
- cTrader proxy setupRead this if you use cTrader for Windows. It shows where the setting is and which proxy type to choose. cTrader doesn’t say which of its connections use the setting, so we claim only that it can connect through us.
- TradingView proxy setupRead this if you use TradingView Desktop. It shows where the setting is and how to check it works. Your check can’t show which of its connections use the setting, and the phone apps and browser version have none.
- Optuma proxy setupRead this if you use Optuma. It shows the proxy setting on its login screen and how to check it works. Optuma says the setting covers its own servers, not your orders.
- Telegram proxy setupRead this if you want Telegram on the same plan. It shows the one-tap setup, and it covers Telegram only, not your trading.
Each platform’s maker decides which of its connections use its proxy setting. Read your platform’s guide before you start a plan, so you know what it covers. We have no guide for MultiCharts and have not checked it, so we claim nothing about it.

Warning. Check your broker’s terms
Traders Proxy is a trading proxy, and it doesn’t change what your broker allows. If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one.

To route MetaTrader 5 through Traders Proxy, open Tools → Options → Server. Tick Enable proxy server, click Proxy., and enter your four values.
On Windows, open Tools → Options → Server in MetaTrader 5 (MT5) and tick Enable proxy server.
MetaTrader 4

To route MetaTrader 4 through Traders Proxy, open Tools → Options → Server. Tick Enable proxy server, click Proxy., and enter your four values.
MetaTrader 4 (MT4) for Android has no proxy setting that we found.
To send MetaTrader 4 (MT4) on Windows through Traders Proxy, open Tools → Options → Server and tick Enable proxy server.
cTrader
cTrader proxy setup on Windows
cTrader for Windows includes native proxy settings under Settings → Advanced → Connection.

cTrader for Windows has its own proxy setting at Settings → Advanced → Connection. Choose HTTP and type in the four values from your dashboard.
TradingView

TradingView Desktop includes native proxy support for Windows, macOS and Linux.

To use Traders Proxy with TradingView Desktop on Windows 10 (22H2) or Windows 11, open the three-dot menu, then Settings, then Network.
Optuma

Optuma features a built-in proxy setting directly on its login screen.
Telegram
Telegram proxy setup in one tap
In your dashboard, open Your values for your platform, choose the Telegram tab and tap Open in Telegram.
Other platforms
JForex has a proxy setting inside the installed platform, at Settings → Preferences → Advanced → Network Settings.
MotiveWave has a proxy screen at Configure → Proxy Settings.
NinjaTrader 8 proxy setup, there is no proxy field
NinjaTrader 8 has no proxy setting, so there is nowhere to type the four values, NinjaTrader’s help lists none.
NinjaTrader proxy setup on Windows 11, no proxy field
NinjaTrader 8 has no proxy field. Its help lists no proxy setting, so there is nowhere to paste a Traders Proxy server.
Sierra Chart proxy setup on Windows
Sierra Chart has a proxy setting at Global Settings → Proxy Settings.
thinkorswim proxy setup, what is and is not documented
Schwab’s help that we could read documents no proxy setting for thinkorswim, so we can’t give a verified setup.
