TradingView Desktop proxy setup in four values
The short answer
TradingView Desktop includes native proxy support for Windows, macOS and Linux. Open the top menu, navigate to Settings → Network, enter your four values, and click Relaunch. Running TradingView locally gives you fluid multi-monitor charts and Pine Script indicators without remote desktop streaming lag.
Why native TradingView charts beat remote desktop streaming
TradingView Desktop uses your physical graphics hardware to render high-resolution multi-monitor charts smoothly. Running natively on your desktop ensures fluid chart panning, responsive zooming, and fast Pine Script calculation.
A remote desktop compresses your charting workspace into a video stream. Screen compression introduces noticeable mouse cursor drag, blurred candle wicks, and frequent session disconnects during active market trading.
Traders Proxy routes your data feed through our proxy tunnel directly. Your local machine handles the visual display while our server ensures steady network delivery.
How to set up your proxy in TradingView Desktop
Warning. Check TradingView and broker terms
If TradingView or your broker prohibits proxies, do not use one. Traders Proxy does not change provider terms.
TradingView Desktop proxy setup in five steps
- 01
Select your nearest server
In your dashboard Connect tab, pick the server location nearest your trading desk from our locations list. This establishes the Server address.
If you need an active plan, choose your plan before beginning configuration.
- 02
Copy your four values
In your dashboard, open Your values and choose the Other tab. Select your protocol, then copy the Server, Port, Login, and Password.
Your proxy password is generated specifically for network routing. It is separate from the password you use to sign in to our website.
- 03
Open network settings
Click the three-dot menu button in the top tab bar. Choose Settings → Network to open the built-in proxy controls.
- 04
Enter your connection details
Tick Use a proxy server, then fill in your connection credentials.
- Protocol
SOCKS5(recommended) orHTTP- Address and port
The Server address and Port number from your dashboard- Username and password
Your Traders Proxy login and password
Enter your Traders Proxy credentials here rather than your TradingView account details.
- 05
Click Relaunch
Click Relaunch to restart the desktop application. TradingView Desktop will start up and connect through your designated proxy.
To disable the proxy, untick Use a proxy server and click Relaunch again.
Confirm your connection before relying on it
Observe your open charts after the application relaunches. Streaming price ticks and updating candlestick patterns confirm that TradingView Desktop is communicating across the network.
Check your Traders Proxy dashboard device counter. An active device indicates that TradingView Desktop has connected through our server.
Only TradingView Desktop routes through the proxy
The proxy setting operates strictly inside the TradingView Desktop application. Your standard web browsing, audio streaming, and large background downloads stay on your default network.
TradingView documents the proxy setting for its desktop client. The browser version and mobile phone applications do not include built-in proxy controls.
Data transmission without artificial delays
Our server forwards every data packet as soon as it arrives. Packets are not held back to bundle with separate data streams.
Distance sets the physical limit on transmission time. We make no promise of lower ping because distance cannot be eliminated by network routing.
Troubleshooting common TradingView connection issues
- No proxy setting appears under Settings → Network. Update TradingView Desktop to the latest version. The proxy feature was introduced in release 2.6.0.
- The application fails to connect after Relaunch. Copy your four values again from your dashboard. Confirm that your port number corresponds with your chosen protocol.
- Charts display a connection closed alert. Verify your TradingView subscription tier limits. TradingView restricts the total number of simultaneous chart connections per user account.
- Proxy configuration clears after software update. Reopen Settings → Network to verify your settings. Enter the four values again if an update restored default settings.

Setup across Windows, macOS and Linux
TradingView Desktop maintains identical network configuration menus across Windows, macOS and Linux systems. For Windows specifics, see the TradingView Desktop on Windows guide.
On macOS, enter your values inside TradingView Desktop preferences rather than modifying macOS System Settings.
Frequently asked questions
Which proxy protocols does TradingView Desktop support?
TradingView Desktop supports both SOCKS5 and HTTP protocols with optional credential authentication. Copy your matching port from your dashboard tab for that protocol.
Can I use a proxy with TradingView in a web browser?
Use TradingView Desktop. The web browser version does not include built-in proxy settings, and browser-wide proxies route unrelated browsing traffic.
Can I configure a proxy in the TradingView phone app?
The TradingView mobile application has no built-in proxy menu. Our documented mobile proxy setup covers MetaTrader platforms on Android, and Apple mobile devices remain untested.
Will my broker orders route through the proxy?
TradingView documentation does not state whether integrated broker trade executions use the application proxy setting. The setting covers market data connections.
Can Traders Proxy inspect my charting traffic?
No. We never inspect, decrypt, or record your data stream. Encrypted connections remain secure between your workstation and the destination servers.
Can I cancel my subscription any time?
Yes. You can cancel renewal at any time in your account dashboard. See how refunds work for full connection terms.

Generic or free proxies fail MetaTrader's proxy Test button
“I keep getting the message "Proxy test failed" no matter what proxy settings I try to set.”
How our system handles it. Use SOCKS5 or HTTP, whichever your platform offers. Enter our server, login and password in MetaTrader’s own Proxy window.

Where it stops. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 support SOCKS5 and HTTP (not SOCKS4). A passing Test confirms the route reaches our server.
MetaTrader 5 will not use a proxy running on the same computer
“that proxy setting is working on MT4, so the problem is from MT5 not proxy”
How our system handles it. You don't need a tunnel app on your computer. Your platform connects to our server through its own Proxy setting.

- Built-in
SOCKS5loginPrimary
Where it stops. Your platform connects through its built-in Proxy window, with no extra app to install. Some MetaTrader 5 builds have separate proxy-window bugs.
The platform's proxy setting does not cover everything (WebRequest, MQL5.community, Market)
“Enable proxy server — allow the use of a proxy server when connecting to the trade server.”
Why a proxy does not change this. Only the trading app you set up uses Traders Proxy. Everything else stays on your normal internet.
- Only the app you set up is routedBoundary
Where it stops. Only the trading app you set up uses Traders Proxy. Expert Advisor web calls, custom DLLs and Market downloads may still use your normal internet.
Order timeouts, 3-minute hangs, 'Off quotes' and 'No connection' when closing
“Sometimes an order get executed on the server-side while my EA is on the way of processing a modify on that order. Everytime that happens it needs to wait full 3 minutes until a 'timeout' error returns”
Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy doesn't change spreads, fills or requotes.
Where it stops. Off quotes, Requote and order timeouts are decided by your broker’s server, not by the proxy route.
