Traders Proxy risk disclosure
In plain English
Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of loss. Traders Proxy provides network connectivity only, your platform connects through our server in the city you choose. We give no financial advice and promise no trading result. Every trading decision is yours, and so is keeping to your broker’s rules. Any connection can drop, ours included, and we don’t send alerts by email or text. We aren’t affiliated with any broker or platform vendor named on this site.
What is the risk in leveraged trading?
With leverage, gains and losses are worked out on the full size of a position, not on the money you put up. So a small price move can mean a large loss, and the risk of loss is high.
Depending on your broker and how it classifies you, you can lose more than you deposit. Your broker’s own risk disclosure sets out what applies to you. Read it before you trade, and only trade with money you can afford to lose.
What does Traders Proxy provide?
Traders Proxy provides network connectivity only. It’s a standard SOCKS5 and HTTP proxy, so it works with any trading platform that has a SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy setting. MetaTrader 4 (MT4), MetaTrader 5 (MT5), TradingView Desktop and Optuma are examples.
Your platform stays on your own device and connects through our server in the city you choose. Which of its connections a platform sends through its proxy setting is that platform’s design. How Traders Proxy works shows the route.
Traders Proxy isn’t a broker and holds no financial services licence. We don’t hold trading funds, place orders or quote prices. The login and password that go in your platform’s proxy setting are your Traders Proxy ones, not your broker’s.
Is anything on this site financial advice?
No. Traders Proxy gives no financial advice. Our guides and articles are general technical information and take no account of your personal objectives, financial situation or needs.
Nothing on this site is a recommendation to trade any product, or to open or close a position. Every trading decision is yours. For financial advice, consult an adviser licensed where you live.
Does Traders Proxy promise a trading result?
No. Profit, loss and the price you’re filled at are set by the market and your broker. We don’t promise a ping figure or an uptime figure.
No diagram or number on this site is a forecast of your results. The way to judge the service is your own connection check, on your own platform.
What can go wrong with a connection?
Any connection can slow or drop. Your own internet, our server, your broker’s server or the networks between them. After a drop, your platform has to reconnect. Until it does, you can’t open, close or change a position from that platform.
Keep another way to reach your account, such as your broker’s phone app.
If a service on our server crashes, it restarts itself, and a restart drops live connections. A service that hangs, or keeps crashing, needs one of us to step in.
When a server needs a reboot, it happens at the weekend. A reboot drops live connections, and some markets trade at weekends. We can also restart a server at other times.
While our server in your city is unavailable, your platform can’t connect through it. You can switch city in your dashboard, then paste the new city’s server value into your platform.
We write notices about our server and your city ourselves, and they show briefly when you open your dashboard. We don’t email or text them, and there’s no public status page. A notice may not be up when a server first goes down.
What happens to my orders if the connection drops?
MT4 and MT5 run trailing stops in the platform itself, so they work only while it’s running and connected.
In MT4 and MT5, your broker’s server holds a stop-loss once it accepts it, so it stays in place if your connection drops. In MT5, the same goes for a take-profit. That isn’t a price guarantee. The price an order fills at is set by the market and your broker.
For any other order type or platform, check where it’s held before you rely on it.
Who is responsible for my broker’s rules?
You are. Traders Proxy doesn’t get around broker rules, and the acceptable use policy sets out what the service is for. Check your broker’s or prop firm’s terms before you connect. If they prohibit proxies or shared server IPs, don’t use one.
Your broker sees one steady address, our server’s, which you share with other Traders Proxy customers. It changes if you switch city, or if a server is replaced. How the shared address works has the detail.
How your broker treats an address that several customers share is your broker’s decision.
Is Traders Proxy affiliated with my broker or platform?
No. Traders Proxy isn’t affiliated with any broker or platform vendor named on this site. That covers MetaQuotes (MetaTrader), Spotware (cTrader), TradingView, Optuma and Telegram. We take no payment or commission from any broker or platform vendor.
Where this site names a broker or a platform, the name identifies it and nothing more. It isn’t an endorsement, by them or of them. Trademarks belong to their owners.
