Trading from Asia

Trading from Asia? Keep your platform connected while our servers handle the long path.

Orders to London or New York cross thousands of miles of subsea cable. Packet loss before Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo or Seoul recovers between you and that nearby hub. Data lost near your broker recovers inside the broker city, while execution routes stay responsive in memory.

01 · The problem

On a long path, every lost piece of data costs more time.

Orders and live prices travel as small packets. On the long transit from Asia to Europe or America, four bottlenecks create stalls and delays.

Each loss waits on the whole distance. Your connection drops and orders stall right during peak market volatility.

Source from the internet standard for sending lost data again

Where the time goes
  1. 01

Your internet provider picks the path

Your data crosses several intermediate networks and subsea cables to reach overseas servers. You cannot choose those transit routes, and routing rarely follows a direct path.

  2. 02

Subsea links congest during the evening crossover

Consumer internet traffic surges across international cables right as Asian evening hours begin. That congestion collides with the London afternoon and New York market opens.

  3. 03

Congested links drop packets, triggering compounding wait cycles

Standard retransmission waits on the full round trip to London or New York. Each repeat loss doubles that wait time. Every order and price update behind the lost packet stalls.

  4. 04

Local Wi-Fi and mobile packet loss multiply the delay

Hotel networks, villa Wi-Fi, and phone hotspots drop packets before data leaves the country. Without a local proxy hub, every dropped packet forces a complete overseas retransmission.

This is how standard internet settings work on any connection. It is not specific to Traders Proxy.

02 · What changes

With us, a lost piece waits on a short trip there and back, not the whole distance.

Your platform connects to our server near you through its proxy setting. Your internet provider still sends your data to that server, often across a border. Our servers then connect to our server in your broker’s city, which connects to your broker.

Example from Ho Chi Minh City to a London brokerIllustrative
  1. 01

Packets lost before Singapore recover on that short hop

Your internet provider routes data out of the country to Singapore. Congested links can still drop packets. Those packets recover between your computer and Singapore, never across the entire route to London.

  2. 02

The long transit to London stays between our servers

Between Singapore and London, our servers maintain an active connection. Any packet lost on that long transit recovers between our servers, not from your terminal.

  3. 03

Packets lost near your broker recover inside that city

Our server connects directly to your broker inside London or New York. Packet loss on that final leg recovers locally inside the broker datacenter city.

  4. 04

Orders and price updates stream without buffering delay

Our servers forward small packets immediately rather than bundling them. Send queues stay short. On quiet trading links, a repeat packet loss does not double your wait time.

On weak hotel Wi-Fi or congested subsea routes, prices may stream more steadily. Your platform may also drop less often. We publish no figure for this, so time it on your own network.

This covers our servers’ connections. Your computer and your broker’s server keep their own settings. The repeat-loss fix covers the first few tries on a quiet connection.

03 · Three traders

What changes at home, in a hotel and on a phone hotspot.

Each trader keeps the same platform and the same broker. Only the proxy setting changes.

Ho Chi Minh City · home internet

MetaTrader 5 at home, with a London broker.

What goes wrong
The New York open hits during your evening hours. International subsea cable links congest under heavy retail traffic. Each dropped packet forces a full retransmit across 10,000 miles to London.
What to pick
Connect to Singapore, and test Hong Kong for comparison. Select London as your broker city.
What changes
Your provider routes traffic to Singapore. Any packet dropped on that first leg recovers locally with Singapore. Packet loss near London recovers inside the UK datacenter.

Bangkok · hotel Wi-Fi

MetaTrader 4 on a laptop, with a New York broker.

What goes wrong
Shared hotel Wi-Fi suffers packet drops and sudden captive portal logouts. A brief network drop freezes live prices right as high-impact news breaks.
What to pick
Connect to Hong Kong, then test Tokyo and Singapore. Select New York as your broker city.
What changes
Dropped packets on hotel Wi-Fi recover quickly with our nearby hub. Stale dead sockets clear immediately so MetaTrader 4 (MT4) reconnects without manual terminal restarts. Your browser stays on the hotel internet, so hotel sign-in portals continue to work.

Bali · phone hotspot

MetaTrader 5 on a laptop, on a cellular hotspot, with a London broker.

What goes wrong
Cellular signal fluctuates across local mobile towers. Toggling between villa Wi-Fi and a phone hotspot assigns a new public IP address, triggering broker security flags.
What to pick
Connect to Singapore. Select London as your broker city.
What changes
Your broker sees one steady address, our server’s, on either network. Only MetaTrader 5 (MT5) uses Traders Proxy, so your allowance with us goes on trading.

04 · Your two cities

Pick the city you connect to, then your broker’s city.

The table lists your primary entry hub and a secondary location to benchmark.

Traffic to New York traverses either the Pacific or Europe depending on your internet provider. Benchmark both entry hubs to see which route drops fewer packets.

We operate no server inside India, so packets still cross international links. Test London against Singapore, and keep whichever delivers fewer freezes. If neither stabilises your terminal, Traders Proxy is not the right tool.

Ask your broker where their live execution servers operate. Choose that city in your dashboard. Switch locations whenever needed without altering your login credentials.

If your broker operates in your entry city, select that city for both endpoints. If your broker runs in an unsupported region, Traders Proxy is a poor match.

05 · Test it

Count the freezes and drops over one busy session.

  1. 01

Log disconnects during a busy session without us

Trade on your usual connection during peak market hours. Record every price freeze. Note disconnect entries in the Journal tab of MetaTrader 4 or MetaTrader 5.

  2. 02

Enable Traders Proxy and log the next session

Enter your credentials into your platform proxy settings. Run the same test during an equally active trading window on the identical local network.

  3. 03

Compare journal logs side by side

If price freezes and socket disconnects persist unchanged, cancel renewal in your dashboard. You retain service through the end of your billing cycle.

Connecting can take a moment longer through two of our servers, so judge by freezes and drops, not by how quickly your platform connects.

If your platform can’t connect through us and support can’t fix it, we refund your first payment within 7 days on a monthly plan, or 14 days on a yearly plan or Founder 50. This doesn’t affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

06 · Limits

Where it helps, and where it can’t.

Distance sets the physical latency floor

Ping represents round-trip physical travel time. We never promise lower ping because the speed of light through fibre optics sets an unyielding minimum.

Local connections remain unchanged

Your local provider still delivers traffic to our entry server. We cannot amplify weak Wi-Fi signals or fix local broadband outages.

Some networks restrict overseas connections

Certain hotel and office networks throttle international traffic. Routing through our server may improve stability, much like a VPN can. Your broker rules and local regulations still govern your account.

Server IP addresses are shared

Your broker sees our server address, shared by traders on a Traders Proxy plan in that city. It changes if you switch city or we replace a server.

Switching networks takes a moment to register

Toggling from Wi-Fi to a phone hotspot registers as a second device until the stale socket closes. On a single-device plan, the new connection may wait briefly.

Broker policies always take precedence

Review broker terms for each destination before opening trades abroad. If your broker bans proxies or remote access, do not use our service.

07 · Questions

Before you set it up from Asia.

Which server city should I select from India?

We operate no server in India, so dropped packets still cross long international spans. Test London against Singapore, and choose the route with fewer session drops. If neither option stabilises your platform, Traders Proxy is not the right match.

Can I trade while travelling across Asia?

Yes, on most networks, including hotel Wi-Fi, a café, or your phone hotspot. If you move far, pick a nearer city in your dashboard and paste the new Server value. Always check your broker rules for each country you visit.

Is Traders Proxy a VPN?

No. A VPN routes all device applications together through one tunnel. Traders Proxy isolates only your trading platform, so browsing and background streaming remain on your normal internet.

Does Traders Proxy work on mobile devices?

Mobile trading terminals rarely offer native proxy menus. On Android, MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 route through standalone utility apps like AdGuard. Select only your trading app, and count your phone as one device on your plan.

08 · Verified forum reports

What you see on long routes from Asia or Australia, and what changes.

Every quote below links to the forum thread or vendor guide where it appeared. Underneath each quote, see which parts of our system work together on it and where our server stops.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

Long-distance delay and undersea cable faults between regions

“Find a broker that uses cloudflare. I use VPN but from Europe. First traded with Generic Trader and ping was 200-300ms. then I changed to Ninjatrader and now my ping is 15-45ms depending on which serverlocation I use as VPN.”

Why a proxy does not change this. No claim. We don't shorten the distance between you and your broker's city, and we don't promise lower ping.

Where it stops. If your route to your broker’s city is long or damaged, our server cannot repair that cable fault and adds a step along the way.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Far from the VPS, every click travels there and back plus video

“Is there no API which you can use instead of running a whole desktop environment? Because now you basically move your mouse in Europe, it sends the signal to the US, moves the mouse in the US, sends the whole video image back to Europe, and with an average of 150ms you're having a minimum round trip time of 300ms, and if you include the big amount of bytes a video feed takes up + decoding that, you're at 500ms.”

How local trading avoids it. With no remote-desktop screen, your click goes to your broker through our server, not to a remote computer and back as video.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary
  • City switchingSupporting

Where it stops. Distance still sets the minimum. From far away, the trip to our server is still long. We add a step and do not promise lower ping.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Reduces one factor

Country and ISP level blocking of MetaQuotes services (Pakistan, specific networks)

“Yes , website is not opening without proxy , however i am able to ping the domain.”

What our system reduces. If a network blocks your broker's address, your platform connects to our server instead.

  • Own separate connection to your brokerPrimary

Where it stops. Works only if your network lets you reach our server and does not block proxy traffic.

cTraderNot a proxy problem

cTrader stuck on 'Reconnecting' after a release, outage or weekend maintenance

“We see continuous reconnections that we do not see on other machines in the same LAN using other software.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy doesn't fix faults inside your platform or on its maker's servers. It only changes the route between your platform and ours.

Where it stops. Never mention 'Reconnecting' as a symptom we cure.

cTraderNot a proxy problem

Home Wi-Fi, router or modem drops that only cTrader seems to show

“When i switched to our downstairs DSL modem and it suddenly worked and i could log into ctrader again.”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy can't fix your own Wi-Fi.

Where it stops. The 'dead connections found fast' row covers our server's side only. Never present it as a cure for Wi-Fi drops.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Not a proxy problem

MT5's own Proxy box overwrites, empties or refuses to save what you type

“This is a bug of MT5 - because if you enter proxy in the system and EVEN if it is off, it will always force you to use the proxy entered there.”

Why a proxy does not change this. We change nothing on your computer. The server, login and password go into your platform's own Proxy setting.

  • Only the app you set up is routedBoundary

Where it stops. We change nothing on your computer. If a MetaTrader 5 build fails to save its proxy dialog, we cannot repair the terminal window itself.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Not a proxy problem

Order timeouts, 3-minute hangs, 'Off quotes' and 'No connection' when closing

“128 ERR_TRADE_TIMEOUT Trade timeout”

Why a proxy does not change this. Traders Proxy doesn't change spreads, fills or requotes.

Where it stops. Off quotes, Requote and order timeouts are decided by your broker’s server, not by the proxy route.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

A country or ISP blocks MQL5 / forex sites (Pakistan thread is about the website, not the trade link)

“Yes , website is not opening without proxy , however i am able to ping the domain. I cannot confirm that isp is blocking in that case domain should not reslove and ping should also not work.”

Why a proxy does not change this. No claim. We don't promise access where a country or network provider blocks a service.

Where it stops. We don't help you reach websites, and some places restrict offshore trading altogether. Check your local rules.

Windows VPS & RoutingNot a proxy problem

Login, install and Authorization failed errors that look like a network block

“I receive the message "Authorization failed". I'm using the same account and password i use to login from Edge. I'm not using VPS.”

Why a proxy does not change this. No claim. Login and install errors are usually on your own computer or in the login you used, not on the network.

Where it stops. Our setup guide separates the broker login from the MQL5 Community login. Authorization failed is usually a login or server-name mismatch.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Solves

Generic or free proxies fail MetaTrader's proxy Test button

“I keep getting the message "Proxy test failed" no matter what proxy settings I try to set.”

How our system handles it. Use SOCKS5 or HTTP, whichever your platform offers. Enter our server, login and password in MetaTrader’s own Proxy window.

  • Built-in SOCKS5 loginPrimary
  • Built-in HTTP proxy loginSupporting

Where it stops. MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 support SOCKS5 and HTTP (not SOCKS4). A passing Test confirms the route reaches our server.
