Trading proxy in Frankfurt

The short answer

No, our trading proxy has no server in Frankfurt. From Frankfurt, you connect to Zurich or Amsterdam, the nearest cities we list. Then you choose your broker’s city in your dashboard, and our server there connects to your broker.

You don’t need a server in Frankfurt to trade from Frankfurt.

We have no server in Frankfurt. The listed cities closest to Frankfurt are Zurich and Amsterdam, so you connect to one of those.

Your broker’s city is a separate choice, and it can be any city on our list. It matters most, because our help is on the connection between our server and your broker.

Choose your broker’s city, even if it isn’t Zurich or Amsterdam.

In your dashboard, choose the city your broker’s trade server is in. If that is the city you connect to, that server also connects to your broker. If it is another city we list, choose that one.

Say your broker’s trade server is in London. You connect to Zurich or Amsterdam, and our servers pass your data to our server in London. Lost data near your broker is then recovered inside London, not from Frankfurt.

Our server in your broker’s city recovers lost data locally.

Our server’s city matters when the internet loses part of your order. When you click Buy, your order crosses the internet to your broker as small pieces of data.

Sometimes the internet loses a piece. Your computer waits, then sends it again, all the way to your broker. If that copy is lost too, it waits twice as long.

Everything sent after it waits as well. In a busy moment, this delays price updates and holds up your next order. The farther your broker, the longer each recovery wait takes from your computer.

Our server in your broker’s city opens a separate local connection to your broker. If data drops on that link, our server recovers it inside that city. Trading ports go first when a server is busy, and broker addresses stay warm in memory.

Note. Our help covers one connection and doesn’t shorten the distance.

Your connection from Frankfurt to our server runs over your own internet, which we don’t change. Our help is on the link between our server and your broker.

If your broker is in Frankfurt, Traders Proxy is a weaker fit.

Then none of our servers is in your broker’s city. The nearest are Zurich and Amsterdam, so lost data near your broker is recovered from there, not inside Frankfurt.

You can still time your own platform without us and then with us, so you decide on your own numbers. Our connection check shows how.

Three steps set you up, with nothing to install.

These steps send your platform’s connection to your broker through our server in your broker’s city.

  1. 01

    Find your broker’s city

Open your platform’s login window. It shows the name of the server your account is on, but the name does not always say the city. Ask your broker’s support which city that server is in.

Our server location guide shows how to check.

  2. 02

    Choose your broker’s city

Open your dashboard and go to Connect. Under Your broker’s city, press Change your broker’s city. Choose the city your broker’s trade server is in, then press the button that names it, such as Use London.

Your four values point to the server you connect to, so this choice never changes them. If that server isn’t Zurich or Amsterdam, press Change the server you connect to first. That one changes the Server value.

  3. 03

Copy four values into your platform

Under Your values for your platform, copy the server, port, login and password into your platform’s proxy setting. Restart the platform so it connects through our servers.

The login and password are your Traders Proxy ones, not your broker’s, so we never ask for your broker login. Your broker sees the address of our server in your broker’s city.

If you picked the wrong broker’s city, change it any time, and your four values stay the same. Restart your platform to use the new city straight away. We never move you to a different city without asking.

You can see whether it helps before you rely on it.

Time how long your platform takes to connect and show live prices, once without us and once with us. Our connection check shows how.

If the two times match, you don’t need us. The problem shows up in busy sessions, so the best time to compare is a big news release. Most weeks bring one.

Know these five limits before you pay.

  • It does not change your ping, the time data takes there and back. We don’t promise lower ping. Distance sets the minimum. Be wary of anyone who promises it.
  • It does not change your own internet. The connection from you to our server is only as good as your internet, so a weak Wi-Fi signal stays weak.
  • It does not touch anything outside your trading app. Only the trading app you set up uses Traders Proxy. Everything else stays on your normal internet, so your plan’s data goes on trading.
  • It does not change your broker’s rules. If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. Check your broker’s terms before you start.
  • It does not keep a platform running with your computer off. If an expert advisor must run while your computer is off, you need a VPS. See proxy or VPS compared.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a server in Frankfurt?

No, Frankfurt is not on our list of server cities. You connect to Zurich or Amsterdam, the nearest cities we list. Then you choose your broker’s city in your dashboard.

Should I choose Zurich or Amsterdam as my broker’s city because they are closest?

Only if your broker’s trade server is in that city. You connect to one of them either way. Your broker’s city is a separate choice, because our help is on the connection between our server and your broker.

Can I use Traders Proxy from Frankfurt?

Yes. You connect to our server in Zurich or Amsterdam, the nearest cities we list, and choose your broker’s city in your dashboard.

Does a server in my broker’s city shorten the distance to my broker?

No. Distance sets the minimum, and no software beats it. Our server in your broker’s city opens a local connection to your broker and recovers lost data inside that city. So your order waits on a short local link, not the whole way from your computer.

Is Traders Proxy a VPS?

No. A VPS moves your whole platform to another computer. We leave your platform where it is and only change where it connects. An expert advisor (EA) that must run while your computer is off needs a trading VPS.

Does my broker allow a proxy?

Check your broker’s terms. If your broker prohibits proxies, don’t use one. Traders Proxy doesn’t change what your broker allows.

Do I get my own IP address?

No. Your broker sees one steady address. That of our server in your broker’s city, shared with other Traders Proxy customers. It changes if you change your broker’s city or we replace a server.

MetaTrader 4 & 5Solves

A firewall, router or ISP drops the platform's broker connection but lets ordinary web traffic through

“The MT5 trading server mt5.metaquotes.net runs on port 1950. We have closed all the "left" ports at our company, including port 1950.”

How our system handles it. Your platform connects to our server through its built-in SOCKS5 or HTTP proxy setting, and our server opens the broker connection from inside the datacenter.

  • Built-in SOCKS5 loginPrimary
  • Own separate connection to your brokerPrimary
  • Unanswered broker server gives up fast and reportsSupporting

Where it stops. Works only if your network still lets you reach our server. We cannot repair a faulty home router or an ISP outage.

TelegramReduces one factor

Connecting Telegram when your network blocks direct access

“If you work in a censored environment, the first thing that authority does is IP blocking.”

What our system reduces. Telegram in one tap on every plan. Telegram’s own proxy type is included on the 2-device and 5-device plans.

  • Telegram in one tapPrimary

Where it stops. Telegram in one tap on every plan, plus Telegram’s own proxy type on the 2-device and 5-device plans. A network that inspects traffic can still block it.

cTraderAvoids by design

cTrader will not log in from a cloud virtual machine (connection reset) or from one VPS network

“Spotware does not block any VPS. You should contact your VPS provider instead.”

How local trading avoids it. You run your platform on your own computer, so there is no Windows server to set up or keep up.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there is no remote Windows server to configure. We do not run cBots while your computer is off.

Windows VPS & RoutingAvoids by design

Remote desktop is laggy on a Mac or a very wide screen (client-side rendering, not distance)

“It is however only over Remote Desktop Gateway. RDP directly to machines over VPN works with no issue.”

How local trading avoids it. Your platform runs on your own computer, so there's no remote-desktop window to lag.

  • Platform stays on your own computerPrimary

Where it stops. Needs a version of your platform that runs on your computer. Anything you still reach by remote desktop is as laggy as before.
